2PAC | Tupac Amaru Shakur, known to the world as 2Pac, was more than a rapper. He was an artist, actor, poet and powerful cultural voice whose work explored identity, inequality, struggle, ambition, love and the realities of growing up in America.
Born in New York in 1971 and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, 2Pac emerged as one of the most influential figures in hip-hop. His music moved between raw street narratives and deeply personal reflections, speaking openly about social injustice, political issues, family, violence, poverty and the pressures of life.
Albums such as 2Pacalypse Now, Me Against the World and All Eyez on Me established a legacy that extended far beyond music. His ability to communicate complex emotions through direct, uncompromising storytelling connected with millions of people around the world.
2Pac was also a successful actor, appearing in films including Juice, Poetic Justice and Above the Rim. His career was brief but remarkably prolific, producing music, film and cultural imagery that continues to influence generations of artists.
He died in Las Vegas in September 1996, aged just 25.
Yet 2Pac's presence never disappeared.
